Wildlife Wines - African Lion

This medium body delicious Cabernet has dark fruit flavors and smooth, structured tannins. Aromas of black cherry, blueberries and plums with toasted oak and a long, silky finish. A portion of every bottle sold goes towards saving African Lions.

All of the fruit was gently destemmed and crushed, then inoculated. Each fermentation was pumped-over twice daily, with the temperature peaking at 90° F. Maceration from 12 to 28 days before barrel aged 12 months in American Oak barrels.

Saving African Lions
Powerful, majestic and quintessential symbol of Africa, the African lion (Panthera leo) is a magnificent carnivore. Tragically, over the past 25 years, African lion populations have been cut nearly in half due to habitat destruction, loss of prey and illegal hunting. With estimated numbers of 20,000 currently in the wild, the risk of extinction is dire.
